I'm so excited to be teaching at QuiltCon again next year! I know I'm a bit late as registration opens next week, but if you're still on the fence, here are my classes and lecture happening next year!
Scrap Your Negative Space Lecture
This lecture is all about ways to incorporate scraps into the negative space of modern quilts. If you've ever been intimidated by vast expanses of solids in modern quilts, or you just want to use up some of your stash, come explore different techniques for using multiple fabrics and prints while still keeping that modern look. I'll have lots of tips on fabric selection and sorting, too!
Friday, 2:30 pm
Ombré Symphony
In this class from my new book, we'll tackle how to use lots of different fabrics to create a smooth gradient from light to dark (or between colors). We'll talk about what fabrics work and what fabrics don't, and how to keep yourself organized as you create. This is also an excellent introduction to curved piecing, as you learn to make the quarter circle block that makes up this quilt!
Saturday morning 9-12 and Friday evening 6-9
Beyond the Basic Binding
Ever feel like a plain old binding is not quite right for your quilt? In this class, learn how a stepped-up finishing technique can enhance the visual flow of your design! We will cover pieced bindings in which we match the binding colors to the piecing, including my special technique for matching colors in the corner, as well as facings (a truly borderless finishing technique).
