Thank you for your interest in lectures and workshops! If you would like to proceed with scheduling, please contact me to discuss available dates.
Availability
- I am currently taking in-person bookings for 2026 and beyond.
- I am generally available for in-person programs in the first part of the year (January through mid-August). If you are in the Southeast U.S., especially Georgia, there may be more flexibility in this; please get in touch!
- Virtual bookings are available throughout the year and can be scheduled with relatively short notice.
Fees
- Lectures (including virtual lectures): $450
- Half-day workshops: $450
- Full-day workshops: $750
- Bookings requiring air travel and/or an overnight stay require a minimum of one lecture and one full-day workshop.
Travel
- I will drive to locations within 300 miles of Athens, GA. Mileage is billed at standard IRS rates.
- For purposes of estimating airfare costs, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta (ATL) is the closest major airport to my home.
- I live around 75 miles from the airport. An airport shuttle versus mileage/parking fees for driving to the airport are typically a similar cost (around $130).
- Airfare will include up to two checked bags. I try to fly Southwest whenever possible to eliminate baggage fees. I book my own flights. These flights may not always be the very cheapest available (i.e., I will choose reasonable flight times and connections). However, I understand and respect that guild and event finances are limited and try to minimize travel costs; if you have concerns, I will be happy to provide you an estimate before the contract is signed.
- For bookings requiring a flight, the contract will include lodging the night before the first event and the night after the last event. I am often able to find flights on the first or last day, reducing the number of nights needed, but in order to ensure I am able to find flights that fit my schedule I do require these nights.
- I am happy to visit multiple groups or guilds if you would like to combine expenses. In this case, I will need contracts from each group. Unless otherwise specified, travel and accommodation costs will be split evenly among groups.
- Hosts typically arrange and pay for lodging; this should be a private non-smoking hotel room with indoor entry, private bathroom, and internet access. In order to perform my best for you, I do not stay at guild members’ homes.
- Meals, excepting those included in lodging or provided by the guild/event sponsor, are billed at current IRS per diem rates, including on travel days. I am vegetarian and appreciate your considering this when choosing restaurants!
Workshop and lecture requirements
- For lectures, a projector (or HDMI TV), screen, and extension cords
- A table for quilts and a second table for patterns and books
- I appreciate help in the form of quilt holders and folders!
- I prefer to limit class sizes to 20 students to ensure everyone receives adequate personal attention.
Miscellaneous
- I prefer to use my own contract for teaching engagements. If you require the use of yours, it will be modified to align with mine.
